Parkfield Miniatures

Parkfield are one of those small manufacturers that unless you are lucky enough to spot their stall at the limited shows they attend, or the infrequent reviews of their products, are likely to slip by you. Which is a pity given the range and quality of their models.

the figures received for review are from the 25mm late 17th Century Glorious Revolution range. The first releases are of English infantry and all are nicely detailed and proportioned. They remind me in style of the Hinchliffe models of past years but without the elongated lankiness from which they tended to suffer.

The Drummer (GRE3) is a particularly nice model with very clear and finely defined detail. The officer (GRE1) is another very evocative figure, but seems a little broad in the beam even allowing for the military fashion of the period. The marching grenadier is an excellent figure (GRE10), although the infantryman (GRE7)seems about to break his nose on his own musket. Finally there is an infantryman advancing with a scythe blade tied to a pole for the Monmouth or Irish actions. In all a very very nice range, selling at a very reasonable 55p per figure, and I look forward to seeing more releases soon.

Parkfield also produce an extensive French Indian Wars range, and have just released A Clive in India range in 25mm that I can't wait to see.
