WS03 WarGrid Modern Europe Starter Pack from Bob's Bits

This pack of card roads, railways, buildings and accessories from Bob's Bits is intended to provide all the terrain the wargamer needs to start off to play a modern 1/300th modern game. In this case that even includes a set of Quick Play rules, by Jason Sampson.

There is a pack of roads providing 12ft of marked, tarmac road to which you can add five sheets of pretty well every kind of junction you could imagine, including roundabouts. There is 6ft of motorway / dual carriageway, including slip roads to connect to the main road. Roads are printed with grass verges, but pavement overlays are provided to turn any stretch into a paved steet.

Another pack contains at least 18ft of dual track and a similar amount of single railway. Again, every variety of track is included, straights, curves, spurs and points, even road crossings. The River pack contains about 6ft of river and maybe the same of stream and includes three bridges, one of which is pictured above.

The buildings pack assembles into a Modern Industrial Estate, pictured above. The buildings are also supplied in ruined form, with shell walls and floors strewn with smashed girders. I haven't actually assembled the buildings, but they are clearly marked out and provided with easy to follow instructions.

All the cards in the starter pack are colourfully and clearly printed on white laminate card, dual sided where necessary. All in all, this starter pack would provide the moderns player with a varied and versatile terrain for which all he needs provide is the green background... and of course his forces. At £21.50 it appears to me to represent extremely good value. Trees, hedges and fields can be added and the pack can be expanded ad infinitum from the Bob's Bits large range
