When John asked Me to take a look at these figures I was quite looking forward to receiving them. I have been looking for suitable figures for a Modern Russian Civil War campaign I have been working on and these sounded perfect. The idea is that the models are a generic equipped with ex-Soviet bloc equipment. They are suitable then for a range of conflicts from Chechnya, Kossovo and Bosnia for example.

When i opened the pack though I groaned. I knew the models had separate heads with a range of hats and helmets, but somehow I reckoned they would just push together like old fashioned Swoppets. However the heads have a fairly long stem leading to the neck that need to be trimmed back, and there is no hole where the head fits to the torso, just a depression. This means some fairly trick work with epoxy to fix them in place.

Personally I have more thumbs than fingers when it comes to tricky work, and always get more glue on me than on the model. Having said that the task was not overly difficult and when completed the figures looked really good. I had been worried that the heads looked a little small in a couple of cases and would look like peas on the troop's broad shoulders. But when they were in place they looked fine.

In all a very nice range of figures, a welcome addition to the modern gamers armouries. www.brooksminiatures.co.uk
