And the battle we have chosen for the 2005 Battle Day is ...
THE SAMBRE, 47BC
Romans led by Julius Caesar Vs the Gallic Nervii
Can you repeat the divine Julius' feat and destroy the ambushing Gauls,
or can you reverse history and defeat the imperialist Roman forces?
For those who don't know the idea of the Battle Day is to refight a
major battle from the ancient/medieval period with a wide variety of
rules. The hope is that player will, if they wish, be able to play in
a variety of games and so be able to see how the different rule sets
handle the challenges posed by the battle.
Date:
Saturday 16 April 2005
Venue:
Sycamore Hall
Drayton Road
Bletchley
Milton Keynes
Buckinghamshire
MK2 3EL
Once again we have been lucky and Phil Sabin has offered to do a talk
about the battle and it's interesting tactical aspects.
All are welcome to participate whether SoA members or not.
If you are interested in playing or running a game please contact use
at
soabatleday@hotmail.com
We hope to see as many of you as possible there.
