The Lord of the Rings - Heroes of the West

To add additional ummmph to your forces of Good, you may find it advisable to grab this recent release from the shelves of your nearest Games workshop stockist.

The set consists of 9 white metal castings, consisting of Gandalf, Legolas, Aragorn, Gimli, Pippin and Merry, Eowyn, Faramir, and Eomer. The majority of the models were free of flash, except at the tips of weapons. The poses are full of action and especially the Aragorn model, who stands with sword raised high, and Legolas, who as usual is running into action. All of the figures are wonderfully detailed in their engraving, and the facial detail is simply first class. 

This whole range of models has produced some of the finest wargaming figures I have ever seen, and have set a standard of excellence that will be stretching for others to follow. Having said that the price tag can reflect this emphasis on quality and some may feel that the retail price of £25 is a little excessive.

If I have any complaint it is the packaging allows too much movement of the models in transit and leads to bent weapons, and perhaps breakages. All in all though an excellent selection and bound to prove popular.
