Holiday Pics!

Just got my photos of my USA trip back.
there are some interesting photos of Bennett's Place, NC. The
farm where Sherman accepted the surrender of the remainder of the Confederate army, from Johnston.
What I find interesting is the terrain, road and buildings. The road is the correct width etc for the main road between Raleigh and
Greensboro, and was used by Sherman as one of his main routes. I guess that you couldn't get 15 men shoulder to shoulder across it.

The fencing is the traditional split log type and would have lined most boundaries. The
house is not the original but another period farm house from a few miles away, which they transported to the site. The original burnt down in 1912.Anyway worth
bearing in mind when setting up AWC battles.
Cheers,
Mat
