Wargames Waterways “creeks”

Review By Steve Crofts

Now here’s something I think gamers of any scale/ period will be interested in, Rob Walrechts Wargames Waterways.

I was sent a set of “Creeks” to review, but whether these are streams, creeks or rivers, all depends on the scale of figures you use.

To start with the sections are 1”, (2 ½ cms wide), and are each of varying length and shape, but when totally joined together in a continuous run you get about  12’, (366 cm).

In All there 27 pieces in the set, each is made of sort of plastic laminate, which along with the printed textured look colouring of the pieces, I think gives the sections a very nice water like appearance, they even rflect light just like real water! On top of that dust should not be a problem as it can be wiped off quite easily.

All the pieces come on two sheets which are slightly bigger than an A4 sheet of paper, and which have been pre cut and just need to be punched out, a simple exercise which is no bother what so ever.

How does it work? Well simple, you have a couple of options which spring to mind, the first of which is by using a bit of low tack masking tape at the ends of each section, it is quite easy to join the pieces together, or you can lay the sections out without tacking them, which ever way is easiest for you, Obviously the none joining method would be better used on a flat surface rather than textured boards.

All in all I reckon that these should come in handy like I said to all gamers, and especially in the case where gamers use various scale minis, as, (as I have already mentioned), the sections become rivers or streams dependent on the scale minis used.

Price well that comes in at 17.50 Euros, which at a rough estimate of exchange to the Euro works out at £12.00, (Check current exchange rates to get the proper price), which for the quality of the item and the amount you get, combined with the multiple uses, I feel is quite reasonable.

Postage rates are 2.50 Euros for Europe, 3.50 Euros for the rest of the world.

How can you get hold of them? Well you can get your sets via the following methods…

As a non-wargames business we would like to cooperate with an established wargames company to sell and distribute our products and expand the range to rivers, lakes, canals etc.

Final comment from me, well all in all a nice set that will be of use to a lot of gamers, a very nice quality product.
